Department of Architectural Engineering
Introduction
The Department of Architectural Engineering emphazises and embodies both engineering skill and artistic understanding. Due to its interdisciplinary nature, it encompasses a wide range of the academic fields, including humanities (history, philosophy, architectural theory), natural sciences (physics, earth science, environment), social sciences (architectural psychology, housing studies, urban studies), engineering (structural mechanics, building materials, construction methods, building environment systems), as well as artistic areas (architectural design, color theory, form composition, ornamentation).
Architectural Engineering performs the task of creating tangible buildings and all other forms of structures through the integration and coordination of the aforementioned diverse disciplines. Therefore, the curriculum is divided into the following areas: structural and materials engineering, building environment and relevant systems, construction management and building IT, and architectural planning and design. The program aims to cultivate experts in each field by providing specialized knowledge and promoting comprehensive thinking.
