Department of Architecture

Introduction

Founded in 1978 with a history spanning over 45 years, the Department of Architecture at Chungbuk National University reorganized its existing 4-year curriculum into a 5-year Bachelor of Architecture program in accordance with international architectural education accreditation standards, starting in the 2002 academic year. The architectural education at Chungbuk National University aims to cultivate architects who will contribute to the improvement and development of environmentally friendly architectural culture, grounded in international-level professional skills through practice-oriented architectural education that meets global accreditation standards. This vision focuses on addressing the architectural education challenges faced by both Chungbuk and Korea, in alignment with the university’s motto of Truth, Justice, and Pioneering Spirit. The objectives are as follows:

1. Training architects who meet international accreditation standards.
2. Developing professionals equipped with the ability to engage in architectural design practice immediately upon graduation.
3. Offering a wide range of courses, focusing on architectural design education while allowing for specialization in related fields.
4. Providing a structured curriculum that adapts to the evolving role and capabilities required of architects in the modern era.
5. Cultivating talents who will lead the architectural culture of Chungbuk and Korea.
