School of Civil Engineering
Introduction
School of Civil Engineering at Chungbuk National University was approved for the establishment of the Department of Civil Engineering in December 1969, and it welcomed new students in March 1970. As a national university specialization project, it was designated as a construction specialization department in September 1979 as a national university specialization project, providing an opportunity for civil engineering department to develop. As a result, the number of students admitted was greatly increased to 325, and as the largest department in the College of Engineering, it has been producing many talented people across the civil engineering field for over 50 years. In 1991, the establishment of the Structural System Engineering Department separated from the Department of Civil Engineering produced excellent talents in the vast civil engineering field. Since 2007, the existing Civil Engineering Department and Civil Systems Engineering Department were integrated into one School of Civil Engineering and were operated as one school and two majors. However, since 2012, the curriculum and all operations have been integrated and operated as one school and one majors.
All faculty members are making steady efforts to solidify a firm position in the field of civil engineering.
